Wisecom Installation Issue (Nearly) Solved?

I appear to have finally enabled my computer to recognize my Wisecom  
Accelerator Pro modem. I was performing an experiment using KPPP to see if  
it could be recognized. When I push the 'Query Modem' button, KPPP  
searches for my modem and displays the 'Modem Ready' message. Combined  
with the fact that my modem lights up in the process, this would seem to  
indicate that KPPP recognizes my modem through the USB port at  
/dev/ttyUSB0, even though the 'Wvdialconf' command doesn't detect it.

However, when KPPP performs the 'ATI Query' function, all the ATI fields  
are shown to be blank when the query is completed. I don't know exactly  
what it means, but I'm thinking this is the only problem that keeps me  
 from using my modem, especially since it doesn't go any further than the  
'Initializing Modem' process when I dial the number for my ISP.

I will admit that I am less concerned about using my modem to surf the  
Internet since I use DSL for that purpose, but I want to use my modem to  
send and receive faxes, perhaps use it as a speakerphone later on since it  
has the appropriate jacks.

To aid you in the formulation of a possible solution, I am sending the  
results of an attempt to use the 'eFax' program and a previous attempt to  
use the 'Wvdialconf' command to get my modem recognized.

Sorry, no modem was detected!  Is it in use by another program?
Did you configure it properly with setserial?

P.S.: I am not concerned about the 'setserial' program since Martin has  
already explained to me that it doesn't work with USB.
