Hello Mike,

There is a diald.lrp at ftp.psychosis.com/linux/linux-router-devel/incoming/
and a ppp.lrp at http://rpmfind.net/linux/LinuxRouter/dists/2.9.8/packages/
Both links can be found by googling.

Just look at the docs of ppp, and have a look at the following options:
demand
persist
They make a dialing on demand without diald
