I'm sorry but I have never really solved that, at least with the -pre versions 
of the linux-wlan-ng driver.
The only way to make my sitecom WL-012 (usb wireless device) work was to 
unplug and replug it until the firmware loading went fine (which apparently 
happened randomly... race condition somewhere?).

I've never tested the issue with the new driver release, since I've bought a 
wireless router in the meantime.
I may use again that usb wireless device with another linux box in the future, 
but up to now I'm not using linux-wlan-ng anymore.

Anyway, I hope someone else can help you with the issue :)
