Wireless signal cutting out

Hi,

I've got an odd problem with my wireless setup and I'm wondering if 
anyone can help. My config is as follows:

Linux-wlan-ng 0.2.1
Fedora core 4
Kernel 2.6.12-1.1447_FC4

Wireless configuration:
Ad-hoc network between Linux machine with MA111 USB and Windows XP with 
built-in wireless.

Basically the problem I'm having is that the wireless cuts out 
periodically while I'm using it. This is particularly irritating when 
I'm using VNC or SSH as it means the session cuts out. Generally, it 
cuts out every five minutes or so for a while after turning the machine 
on. After some period of time - around an hour I suppose, it stops 
cutting out and the network becomes much more stable.

Can anyone suggest why the network is cutting out? Are there any 
parameters in linux-wlan-ng I can tweak that will solve this? Or is this 
an issue with the Windows side of the wireless implementation?
