I am using Fedora Core 4 and Seimens Speedstream ss1022. I have installed linux-wlan-ng correctly without errors. when I plug the adapter in dmesg says: usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 65 usb 1-2: config 1 has an invalid interface number: 1 but max is 0 usb 1-2: config 1 has no interface number 0 hfa384x_docmdx: ctlx failure=REQ_TIMEOUT hfa384x_drvr_start: cmd_initialize() failed, result=-5 prism2sta_ifstate: hfa384x_drvr_start() failed, result=-5 the only info I can find (several times) is this: The problem is that the prism2's single interface is number 1, but according to the USB standard interfaces are supposed to be numbered starting at 0. This is a fairly common error among USB devices. Alan Stern ok and there seems to be a patch: ===== drivers/usb/core/config.c 1.28 vs edited ===== for config.c well I cant find a config.c on my system so I search some more and find out that fedora core 4 has usbcore built into the kernel instead of as a module. my question(s): Is there another way around this error? If I have to patch usbcore how would I go about doing this with FC4? Thank You for any assistance, GaFFy _______________________________________________ Linux-wlan-user mailing list [email protected] http://lists.linux-wlan.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-wlan-user
