wlan0 not created

I am trying to use MA111 on my Fedora Core 3. I followed the instructions on:

  The prism2_usb gets loaded when I connect the MA111 on my usb, but I don't get it listed in my network devices (ifconfig). 
   
  I get a message: device wlan0 does not seem to be present.
   
  I saw some messages discussing this issue, but I dont see any thread which suggests the resolution for this problem.
