Ahh, that helps a lot. I had three "shared" files. That stopped the wlan.agent spasms and allowed me to work thru the rest, mostly just getting it to use the right channels. I'm surprised, however, that the driver doesn't search all the channels for an active node if it doesn't get an offer quickly on one. For some reason it was stuck on 8, even tho windoze found the channel 6 node immediately, and I'd think that when I rebooted into linux it would have stayed on 6. I set it to 6 in /etc/networks/interfaces and it works now.
