Hi all, I have two D-Link adapters: a DWL-G122 (USB) and a DWL-G650+ (PCMCIA). When I plug any of the adapters on my computer, nothing happens (ifconfing does not show any new interfaces). I manually loaded the prism2_cs and prism2_usb modules, which loaded successfully, but still, I get no new interfaces. The only thing that the kernel says when I plug in the USB adapter is (according to dmesg): === usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2 prism2usb_init: prism2_usb.o: 0.2.2 Loaded prism2usb_init: dev_info is: prism2_usb usbcore: registered new driver prism2_usb === Note that the driver was loaded manually, by me, as suggested the README file: modprobe prism2_usb prism2_doreset=1 The "lsusb" command gives: === dawn ~ # lsusb Bus 002 Device 002: ID 045e:0084 Microsoft Corp. Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 002: ID 2001:3703 D-Link Corp. [hex] Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 === Now, when I plug in the PCMCIA adapter nothing is output by the kernel. If I load the driver, syslog shows: === Dec 18 22:49:07 dawn prism2cs_init: prism2_cs.o: 0.2.2 Loaded Dec 18 22:49:07 dawn prism2cs_init: dev_info is: prism2_cs === Nothing else happens... and I have no new interfaces! :( I had a look at the archives and I only found a suggestion that module-init-tools should be upgraded. This is at: http://lists.linux-wlan.com/pipermail/linux-wlan-user/2005-September/013489.html However, I am using module-init-tools 3.2.1 The cardctl command gives: === dawn ~ # cardctl status Socket 0: 3.3V CardBus card function 0: [ready] Socket 1: no card dawn ~ # cardctl ident 0 no product info available === I'd be glad to give any further information to anyone who can help. Thanks in advance! Alex P.S. The adapters do not even light up! (their LEDs I mean). -- In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is. -- Yogi Berra.
