Please ignore previous truncated emails... I can't operate gmail. Here is what I think solved the netgear ma111 lockup problem for me. I got exactly the same problem using Linuxant driverloader as I did using linux-wlan-ng ie. -EILSEQ error message and adapter lockup. Searching on Google indicated people running Win XP suffered similar lockups after 5 minutes. These bits of information made me think the lockup was a hardware/firmware issue. ie. not a problem with host usb or the software driver (although i spent some time randomly hacking the code also). My adapter seemed especially hot after a while as it is situated near the power supply and gets hot air blown onto it, not to mention the considerable heat it generates itself. More searching on "ma111" and "overheating" indicated that overheating may be a cause of adapter lockup. I moved the adapter to the front of the PC and loaded the network. The adapter locked up but after ten minutes instead of five. So i thought i might be onto something. I got an ice-gel bag from the freezer and wrapped it around the adapter. I didn't get lockups for an hour after doing that.... Obviously frozen gel bags aren't a long term solution. So I'll probably cut open the adapter and fit a heatsink to whichever chip gets the hottest.... For some reason a batch of these ma111's must be particularly heat sensitive. Matt.
