   Gee, it sure works fine for me with both of my prism cards, one on my
desktop running debian 3.1 and the other in my ipaq running familiar 0.8.3.

    No, he's got something else wrong. I recall getting that message when I
didn't have the driver configured properly --even if he had the ssid it
still won't work until the driver is properly configured. Or else he needs
to upgrade the firmware. The iwlist command has always worked with my Senao
prism2.5 card in my ipaq (but that's the hostap driver) and it works now
with my WUSB11 v2.5 prism usb nic using the linux-wlan driver, but I can't
recall if it did before I upgraded the firmware on that one. I definitly
recall getting that message tho -- but it was also during a period before I
was able to get the WUSB11 to work with debian.
     Did you do a "rmmod prism2_" and then a "modprobe prism2_whatever" and
then the wlanctl ... enable command?


Perhaps you could ask someone what the ssid is?
