Hi Richard,

Thank you for replying to my cry for help. :)

I could not find any "kernel: writing..." or "kernel: ident" messages in
the 'messages' or 'dmesg' logs.

I didn't think to try removing the alias from the modprobe.conf and the
stuff in rc.local since a lot of instructions insist that has to be
there, so I can give that a try.

BTW my wireless adaptor is USB (WRUB 2054i).
