Thanks Richard! Should have read the FAQs before I posted. My apologies!
I've "made?" the installs and configures without errors. Modprobe seems to
work now too. 

Now to get it to connect to the wlan and I'll be off and running. Any other
caveats that I should be aware of? Thanks for your insights!

Hi Matt,

no problems. Until Solomon releases a new version you could try the
development sources from svn. There's an answer in the FAQ describing
how to get them.
