analyzing core dump.

Hello All,
I have one core dump. But am unable to make out anything from this.
I used "whatis" to find the symbol information. 
But don't know how to analyze the symbol of type "GLOBAL_TEXT",
"EXP_KSYM"? 
Also is it possible to see the content of code segment when a dump has
taken?
Please respond ASAP.
