Re: lsb_release and /etc/lsb-release

Hi!

I still think (and in fact it is) that lsb[_-]release are for
the 'LSB'-itself related identification.

However, it also contains information about the distribution
it's running on, which is IMHO unrelated.

How about putting the distribution (product) data into a separate
file, for example to already suggested /etc/release?

This could even convince all vendors to drop all /etc/*-release
and use only this, general one.
