ppc status: not ready/need equipment

Looks like there are some major problems
on the lsb-si for ppc.  I've been
staring at test journals that include
a lot of segmentation faults, and I
just got hold of a partial native
run, where those are, with just a few
exceptions, not happening.

This implies there's a library problem
on the ppc lsb-si.  It's not even worth
looking in more detail at the other results
until this issue of 114 occasions of the
test binary (or the child started by
the main test binary) crashing and not
completing.

The problem is that changes to glibc
require major rebuilds, and this takes
major amounts of time on the relatively
slow machines that are "available" for trying 
stuff out on, and the availability of those
machines is poor, and in one case, and
imposition on someone who's been very
generous to date.

For now it's going to be hard to move
the lsbsi/ppc off the "not ready to
release" status unless/until (a) a
capable machine become available for
use on the net (including file upload/
download capability via ftp/http/cvs/ssh),
or (b) someone with time, access, and 
inclination starts digging into this and
resolves the issues.

In the meantime, are there known issues
with running ppc linux with glibc-2.2.5?
We're running with only a few patches to
the base:  there's a gcc-3.2 set, an
lsb-conformance set, and a very small
ppc-specific patch that merely adds a
missing ldconfig.h file.  Is there likely
to be more needed?
