The other issue is that the "Relationship to POSIX" section has been introduced
in order to satisfy comments from the ISO community where they see the LSB as
potentially in competiitoin to POSIX when both are ISO standards. Since, as
Stuart points out, the LSB is a layer above POSIX, it makes sense for the LSB to
be the place where that relationship is described, just as POSIX itself is a
layer on top of hte ISO C standard. OpenI18N is not an ISO standard; when it is
redy to be, it needs to contain a section "Relationship to the LSB".
And, as you point out, the LSB is a pre-requisite for OpenI18N certification
(and not the other way round).
However, since there is a certain amount of support for I18N operations, and we
did merge the two specs at 1.3, I have some sympathy for explaining that more
clearly. In particular, renaming the test cases would help remove this confusion.
How about a "Relationship to Other FSG Specifications":
"The LSB is the base for several other specification projects under the umbrella
of the Free Standards Group. This specification is the foundation, and other
specifications build on the interfaces defined here. However, beyond those
specifications listed as Normative References, this specification has no
dependencies on other FSG projects."
