I've been continually frustrated by how hard it is to get the sysinit chapter right through the repeated small tweaks we've been doing over the months. Further, I've started looking again at how to write a sample implementation of this stuff (required for the lsbsi, been missing way too long), and found it not really clear to implement to. So I took a while to do a major cleanup. The sections are now consistent with one another, and have cross-references so the reader should easily see the relationships of the pieces. I don't think I changed the meaning of anything, but since so much changed, I've just popped a copy here for a look: http://www.linuxbase.org/~mats/sysinit/tocsysinit.html This is a "proposed change", I haven't checked this in. Note as you follow the links, only the sysinit chapter is there, the other links will be broken. Along the way I filed several bugs for clarification, there's still some information that is not quite sorted out in those: http://bugs.linuxbase.org/show_bug.cgi?id=818 http://bugs.linuxbase.org/show_bug.cgi?id=819 http://bugs.linuxbase.org/show_bug.cgi?id=821 and also interesting might be http://bugs.linuxbase.org/show_bug.cgi?id=823 Any comments? -- mats
