RE: lsbinstall (was: Announce: LSB 3.0 RC1 is out)

 
Okay, trying to recap this.

Seems like the gist was, for package-manager installs,
the preference would be have them install directly
to /etc/init.d, then call install_initd to enable it.

For non-package-manager installs, they should not
install there directly.

Does this say that the "copy an initscript" mode of
lsbinstall should not be invoked by an rpm postinstall
script, but should by any other install method that
does not use the package manager?
