LSB Test Teleconference July 12 2005

General status:
We opened for certification on July 1st . Companies wishing
to get certified for LSB 3.0 can begin their preparation
(register their companies, commence signature of the TMLA,
start registering products).
We are attempting to move the final lsb-runtime test tools
to approved this week.

Detailed Status is as follows:

For LSB Runtime certification, the following tests are
approved:
lsb-runtime, lsb-vsw4, lsb-c++ (qm/qtest) and application battery

The TET support package is also approved for release.

The status of the other tools is as follows:

lsblibchk still a problem with dladdr() -
variability in results gone, six of seven platforms, have
18 problems (x2) (the same failure reported in two different ways)
although only two fail results logged to the journal.
We are in need of an expert to resolve the problem, however
since only two failures are caused we should move this to approved
status shortly (we'll await a final ok from Mats within 1 day).

lsbcmdchk

It was agreed that we should move this to approved status.

Action : Marvin to move lsblibchk (once ok from Mats) and
lsbcmdchk to approved

lsbpkgchk -
This has been updated to report rpm header check errors
to the journal. Now causing what we consider to be a
conforming package to have 3 errors.
We agreed that would like to move this to a release candidate since
the number of errors is small.

lsbarchk -
Pending one piece of work to tell it not to complain about
source only symbols, it is useable as is.
hold one

We agreed that since the lsb-runtime tools are not available
that we can hold these two application test tools for at least
one more week.

Next meeting, Jul 19.
