Hi Andrew,

I think what Jeff is referring to in particular is the fact that the test 
RPMs have a package dependency on "libc >= 2.3.5" and when alien converts 
this dependency it can't be fulfilled on Debian 3.1 (sarge) and so can't be 
installed. I don't know if this dependency is being generated by the rpm 
build based on the build environment or if it's hard-coded in the rpm spec 
file.

Would it be acceptable to remove this package dependency to allow runtime 
implementations not yet using that version of the canonical implementation 
(or using another implementation, we don't mandate glibc after all) to be 
able to install? That seems like the correct thing to do.
