LSB Test Teleconference Jan 10 2006

The main agenda items are

+ Closing out the test suites for LSB 3.1.
Our target was to get release candidates out for January 15 2006,
this is now a couple of days behind schedule. The cutoff
for final changes checked in should be this Friday Jan 13.
with general release targeted for February 15 2006.

Bug 1093 is the blocker

Andrew noted that for some tests he won't have a fix in time
for the release and so will mark some tests as notinuse
(this affects bugs 1055,1068,1100). The tests will output
a message referencing the bugzilla reference. This will allow us
to return later to fix them, so we should push those bugs to 4.0
(the rollup bug for LSB runtime 4.0 is 1020)

Bug 1151 is a new bug in the Li18nux tests. This has been 
added as a blocker to LSB 3.1

None of the blockers are felt to be critical, if at the end
of the week they are left open we should defer them to 4.0.


+ Improvements to the LSB test suite usability

For the moment we are trying to address the known test suite
bugs, either by fixing or at least withdrawing them pending
a fix. We need to consider the bigger picture of better
automation etc after LSB 3.1 is out the door.

+ lsb TET package update

We've had a request to build the pytet module into the package
(or provide an addon package). Andrew has filed a bug
bugzilla 1151 to track this. At the moment he is considering
adding the pytet module to the core lsb-tet package. He hopes
to work on that this week.

XTS 5:
No updates since last time, RC1 is already available.
Known problems relate to xfvb needing a certain set of extensions.
The way forward here is for us to package up a version of xvfb that must
be used with the test suite.
