Debian is still using /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts for stable/testing/unstable as of
2006/01/19. Xorg version 7.0 will soon be available in unstable and will use the
new path. Debian will need to transition all their font packages (97 packages
that install to the old directory). Ubuntu already went through this transition.
It's difficult because before you can create a symlink from the old location
pointing to the new, everything has to have moved. Even then you can't be sure,
because a use may have put their own things there. The way Ubuntu deals with
this is they have a preinst script check and if needed explain to the user that
they need to fix the problem by hand.

I bring this up because I want to point out that there is a transition that each
distro is going to need to deal with and I think we should allow both locations.
Either automatically or by prompting in the interview would be fine.
