On #4, can we leave some comment (and/or a new bug) on why these are commented 
out and any possible future directions.  Otherwise it will just become a 
headscratcher why particular tests are commented out.  I already don't 
understand why various other code chunks in libchk which were written and then 
commented out are that way.
