g++ in RC1?

A couple of questions about the rc1 distro:

I installed tightvnc, but the server will not run.  Despite some bogus 
messages aabout font path, the server core dumps.
So, I tried to build the server, and there'a a problem with the 
configuration files(don't recognize amd x86_64).  so, I downloaded the 
source for real vnc, and tried to build it.  What?  No c++ compiler 
installed?  Is that possible?  Only gcc, no g++?
