Hi I am trying to install cooker on some small place I made on my machine... I mirrored cooker on my home partition and I copied the vmlinuz and all.rdz files in /boot as explained in the Cooker how-to. I normally run 2 SATA drives with RAID1 (on x86_64). This is what happens when I boot: 1. I select the linux image 2. the kernel loads, the installer starts and presents me with a menu 3. I choose hard disk install and ok, then the system presents me with a choice: it picked up my 2 SATA drives and I choose one of them (they are in a mirror setup), specifically my home partition 4. the installer is happy and the graphic parts starts, I choose the language, I accept the conditions, then it tries to load the hard drive:: nothing! I get an error message "an error occurred", no way to go forward. Then I insert my usb key and I mount it. I continue and the installer picks up my /dev/sdc drive and it I get to the partition wizard. But not sign of sda and sdb (my 2 drives as seen before), gone. I you look below it looks like it tries to assemble the raid partitions. However, you find nothing under /dev/ which looks like a raid device (mdX). It looks like the error is coming at this part of the logs (ddebug.log): ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * starting step `selectMouse' * step `selectMouse' finished * starting step `setupSCSI' * running: insmod_ /tmp/cdrom.ko * running: insmod_ /tmp/ide-cd.ko * running: insmod_ /tmp/sr_mod.ko * setting probeall scsi_hostadapter to sata_via usb-storage sbp2 * running: insmod_ /tmp/dm-mod.ko * running: insmod_ /tmp/dm-mirror.ko * running: dmraid -ay ERROR: dos: reading /dev/mapper/via_cbghaecfdi[No such file or directory] * running: dmraid -rcc * dmraid: mapper/via_cbghaecfdi [/dev/sda /dev/sdb] * id2hd: * id2edd: 0x77f69c1f=>/sys/firmware/edd/int13_dev80 * test_for_bad_drives(/dev/mapper/via_cbghaecfdi) * error: An error occurred - no valid devices were found on which to create new filesystems. Please check your hardware for the cause of this problem at /usr/lib/libDrakX/install_any.pm line 1616. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any idea welcome.
