Not booting - ide_cd_mod not found

Hi,

Due to some problems i decided to do clean 2011 install, and then
upgrade to cooker.

So i did it but when i boot the system seams screwed, it appeared
something saying to enter in emergency mode and to hit CTRL+D or enter
root password.

Well i did ht CTRL+ D severalls times but it continued prompting the
same message.

I notested that the error that i could see was:

FATAL: Module ide_cd_mod not found.

and i also saw a bunch of udev messages but i wasnt able to read them
since i couldnt scroll back.

What can be done to fix this situation?
