Something that I have been working (with basically zero publicity), and hopefully could match, or give visible results in a 3 months timeframe is work on packaging www.salome-platform.org, and related dependencies. But I both, don't have any contacts with upstream, neither think would qualify to write a good argument as to why it is a cool thing for Gsoc... Anyway, it is a huge codebase, summing everything and dependencies only applicable to it, or that it is the upstream, e.g. www.opencascade.org, should be at least around 300Mb tar.gz source code... There is one mention of a python package that interfaces opencascade in http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/being_packaged.en.html and there is one reference to salome (but 801 days in preparation should mean it is not likely to be done...) Anyway, there should be several other cooler, or more "visible" projects. > Cheers > > -- > Anne NICOLAS > Director of Engineering > Mandriva http://www.mandriva.com > Mandrakesoft becomes Mandriva Paulo
