Hello,
I think iBus is better than SCIM for Japanese language.
We often met the problems between firefox, flash and input methods.
iBus debelopers will fix it, but SCIM developers will not do it.
The latest SCIM was released at 2009-04-19.
iBus supports Anthy and Mozc.
Mozc is a Google's Japanese conversion engine.
People say it's better than Anthy, so Japanese users will accept iBus.
(iBus also supports SCIM.)

I think we can keep gcin in Mandriva's Main repository,
but we should not include non-multilingual input methods in multilingual ISOs.

Some users need SCIM, so we should keep it in Contrib.
iBus is good for the default multilingual input method in Mandriva 2011.
