Too pity, but some time life just sin't fair!
What's left of Mandriva in the end? Is the 2010.1 the final relase of it?

It's freacky and scarry all this story with Mandriva. We just love this distro,
spent too many hours (years!) with it and do not want to see this adventure
ending so soon and so brutal!

We'll regret all this departuires and thak you for all this time in the "French
resistance"!

Good luck for all of you.

Best regards,

Subject: [i18n] Leaving...

Hi all

I will not be much original in writting that email. As all my talented
colleagues, I have also to leave Edge-It in a few days. All the story started 7
years ago when joining Edge-It founders to develop activity around open source
support and consulting. After some time, we started speaking with Mandriva and
finally the company was bought. It was the beginning of a great human adventure.
Because Mandriva Linux position as engineering manager was just more than a job.
It was also a big commitment to a wonderful open source project and all its
values around. Mandriva Linux was also such a big challenge to ensure users all
the best from open source projects and at the same time last innovations to make
Linux desktop even more friendly and usable.

Community and team are made of human beings (yes! I've seen some of them ! :) )
making sometimes my role not that easy :). But I guess such a big work has been
done together these last years. What I could see was a growing up part of
people so proud to be part of this project and sharing this with new incomers.
IMHO this is one of the key success for an open source community.

I'd like to thank all engineering team who did work so well in very hard
conditions but kept going, giving all the best of them. A special dedicace to
the guys leaving at the end of this week: We did it ;). Also many thanks to all
of you, users, testers, packagers, translators and all supporters. I was so
happy for sharing all this with so many talented and enthousiastic guys. Finally
I'd be proud to work again with all of you in any incoming project.

Sadly and freely

Anne (aka ennael)

PS: You can reach me later on my personal mail [email protected]

PS (bis): As he is too shy to speak about it, Arnaud Patard is also leaving
Edge-It. He was our favourite grumpy kernel hacker but also a talented guy
working on architectures ports like MIPS and ARM.
