Who can confirm this? This message is shown during the boot process if the kernel boot options are incompatible with the currently configured driver. It is not normally shown when you use XFdrake to switch the driver as XFdrake handles updating bootloader configuration as well. It is mostly shown if a) a user switches manually to a proprietary driver or vesa, or b) a driver change is done during the boot from radeon/nouveau/i915 to a proprietary driver or vesa. Also, the system has to rebooted completely as unloading KMS drivers is somewhat tricky business. -- Anssi Hannula
