I don't understand what more work are you talking about.
Please, can you detail more for better understanding?

With what kind of work are you overloaded and what do you think it creates more?

It's not about forcing anyone to a certain working method, you can say this about other projects that propose translators only a web interface and that's all!
This is more about the improving the contribution process for the translators and make it much easier for newcomers.
Proposing them "the SVN way" it's scary enough to ask you later way we're so few to translate Mandriva?

JP's initiative is saluted, he propose us a web interface to work in a collaborative way and automate the commit task so that we have not to worry about SVN commands. A new administration interface, for team coordinators, is on it's way too.

And all this is done without changing anything to the "traditional" way of working with the SVN.
It just reminds everybody working with the SVN, for the moment - since there's no sync between SVN and Tx (dev will take some time) - to update the file also in Tx once you've committed it on the SVN.

Do you really think that this is asking too much?
