[MandrakeMove] umlauts or howto mount ext3 with utf-8

Hello,

all my partitions are accessed with Mandrake Linux using UTF-8 locales.
Is there a way to access the data using MM with correct filenames?
Changing the locales before mounting does not help and AFAIK there is no
mount option to force the usage of unicode.

So is it possible with MM to access utf-8 filenames? If not, how do I
find out which cdrom based linux distributions use utf-8 by default?
