Are you sure? as far as i know it's not sent any commands like that directly
from gwenview to printer.

Anyway you can also write your own template for printwizard plugin
(used either in gwenview or in digikam for instance).
Have a look at the file:
/usr/share/doc/kipi-plugins/printimages/TEMPLATE_HOWTO
to try your page layout.
