Mandriva 2011 - another small problem

Thank you again for reading this.

It looks like I got too excited too soon. "Launch Mandriva" worked with the 
nomodeset option so I went ahead with the installation which was flawless.

The problem now is that I cannot log into the system (not even in safe mode) 
because of the same video mode problem. How can I get around this? My guess 
is that I need a new Radeon video driver but how can I install it if I can't 
access the system?
