try to regenerate initrd:
# mkinitrd /path/to/initrd <kernel-version>

where:
/path/to/initrd =E2=80=94 most likely "/boot/initrd--2.6.38.7-desktop-1mnb2=
.img"
kernel-version =E2=80=94 most likely "2.6.38.7-desktop-1mnb2"
