Hi Chris

you are right in your findings. I bought a Nexus mini usb adaptor blue
micropro. I'm using it on Linux mint7, I can browse file on device from
my bluetooth icon on my task bar. I can browse all folders on my nokia
2630 phone with no problems and I can pull files, images etc off the
phone.

Just like you when I attempt to send a picture to my computer from my
Nokia 2630 I get search for devices then an error no devices found.

I've always needed to send files from my computer to the phone but never
the other way round because I can just browse my folders on my phone using
obex ftp i think it's called.

I generally create my own ring tones, and bluetooth it across to my phone.

I'll keep trying and if I have a break through I'll let you know.

Regards
Kevin
