Yes, they come close, though they look bulkier than what I envisaged.  
The downside is the cost, of the order of £200, which is steep for 
casual use, maybe three or four receipts once a week.  And I would need 
a driver which supported PostScript output although I could have a go at 
programming text graphics.  Obviously not consumer items.  I guess I 
shall forget it.
