I have four distros on my PC, they each have their own home partition but 
folders such as Documents, Videos etc are all symlinked to a common data 
partition so that all this type of data is available to each distro but config 
files are kept seperate.

The only thing to bear in mind is to use the same user name and especially UID 
for each distro so tht all can access all data, otherwise you need to look 
into Access Control lists
