E-mail the sender requesting the newsletters be resaved in a .doc 
format (that can be read by Open Office). After receipt and opening 
the files successfully, a thank you e-mail suggesting the extra work 
could be avoided by using open document formats via a convenient 
Linux distribution might help raise software diversity consciousness.
