Send the files back to them and request something accessible - doc
or pdf. There are apps to print to pdf for all the operating systems
- mostly free of charge. 

Aside from not being compatible with open systems, these files are
inaccessible for screen readers, so no good for people with vision
impairments; tell 'em they need to sort themselves out before someone
goes for them with the DDA.
