What kernel do you have installed?

alt.os.linux.mandriva has a recent thread titled
New 2010 install impossibly slow.

The system in that instance had an Intel 3Ghz Core 2 Duo 1333FSB
E8400 with 2 500GB hard drives. The installer provided the
server kernel (perhaps due to dual-core cpu), and speed went to
Hotel in a handbasket. Installing the desktop kernel
straightened things out. A test of 2009.1 showed the same
divergence between server and desktop kernels.

Unruh says he filed a bug report but I do not have the number.

Cheers!
