No sound 2010.1

Hi All,

I have an HP notebook a dv6-2128ca and no sound.  M2010 sound used to 
work but with my clean install I have none.

lspci | grep Audio shows:

00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
01:05.1 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc RS880 Audio Device [Radeon HD 
4200]

draksound shows I have an Intel HDA driver (snd_hda_intel [ALSA])

pavucontrol shows that I have: a dummy output device with no hardware 
devices showing.  Now where did this dummy device come from?

How can I get sound to work, please?
