for the most part, it may take a second or 30 to be seen by kde or 
gnome, but when I plug in and turn on mine, in KDE, a window pops up 
asking to mount it or copy it. ( or some such, since I know I am going 
to mount it and open a konq/Dolphin window there, I take that choice.
