Not that I know of, but if you open Compiz Config Settings Manager (needs=
=20=20
to be installed separately by sudo apt-get install=20=20
compiz-config-settings-manager or something like that) then you can define=
=20=20
the default size of different types of windows based on names, types, ID=20=
=20
etcetera.

There is also a feature that lets you easily move the active window to one=
=20=20
out of nine places: Upper left, upper middle, upper right and so on. It's=
=20=20
not activated by default but I found it the other day and I assigned=20=20
keyboard shortcuts to it (Super+1 for lower left, 5 for center=20=20
horizontally and vertically and so on =E2=80=93 so the numbers at the numpa=
d=20=20
describes the position).

It's not a solution for your problem, but it could be a workaround.

I also noticed that new windows are not always opened at the same place.=20=
=20
If one already was open, the next one opens somewhere else, but that too=20=
=20
has very little to do with your problem.
