Dictionary lookup failure

Not much happening lately on the lists.  Here is a problem; the dict.org 
site seems to have been out of action for the last several days.  I 
tried changing the default server for the gnome-dictionary panel applet 
to GNU Dico but that returns Polish only.  Not surprising really because 
the home site is Polish.

One site which is working is dict.tu-chemnitz.de.  That can be defined 
as the default for gnome-dictionary but the entries seem a bit terse.  
Have not investigated which sources they use.  The host is Chemnitz 
University which solicits donations so I feel uneasy about using it (as 
an OAP no longer able to afford any more donations).
