In the Mandriva Linux Control Center, go to Software Management 
to Install & Remove Software.  Set the two buttons under Software 
Management to All.  In the find window, enter skype. See what you 
can find.  If you find nothing, back up one, go to media 
selection, and add non-free repositories.  Or go to
http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ and follow instructions to add the 
non-free repositories.


Google is your friend.  Just for grins, go to Google Groups 
Advanced Search,

http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=&

search for Skype in forum alt.os.linux.mandriva.

Getting sound to work properly with Skype may take some effort 
and tinkering.  If what you can find in a.o.l.m. does not get you 
going, you might try posting specific questions there.

Suggestions:  Do not post from Google Groups, as some who monitor 
the forum send everything posted from there to the used bit 
bucket (aka the null device).  Do not top post in follow-ups.  Do 
use a cogent subject line, but do not expect that everyone will 
see all of it.  Some news readers truncate the subject line to 
some (fairly short) length.

Provide details that will allow sysadmins to diagnose what you 
have done, and not done, and where things may have gone off track.
