About the gxmame/xmame not installed issue, we could now provide a Suggest. About the xmame / sdlmame thing, if we are sure that sdlmame provides the same functionality (the video outputs, etc), we should of course drop xmame and xmame-only frontends until a new (up-to-date) xmame release comes out. I still have some doubt... I'd suggest the poster to try gmameui / sdlmame anyway. I hope this front-end can use the "-video opengl" option. Let me know.
