Both software seem unmaintained. I'm not sure this front-end can still build on cooker and 2010.0 without Kde3. Did you try ? Does it work ? For kde4, there are some other mame port and front-ends that are packaged. You can try sdlmame and qmc2 for instance (that i'll update soon).
