I don't know and that's the honest truth. I have nothing to do with
MNF other than build updates for it. I'm still not sure why I'm the
moderator of this list.
No, there was not a change of management... Francois Bancillhon is
still the CEO and AFAIK, the management from Conectiva has been
merged in but has not taken over. Remember, we purchased them.
Whether this was the intention all along, or someone had a light bulb
go off at the last stage of development, I can't say. That is so out
of the realm of my responsibility that I couldn't even hazard a guess
but I can tell you that there was no change of management. The name
change was just due to the merger and a good way of getting out of a
lawsuit dealing with Mandrake the Magician (which we possibly could
have won, but would have been very expensive to do anyways so the
merger was a nice excuse to avoid a bunch of legal costs).
Frankly, up until the list was up in arms about it, I didn't even
know that ISOs were not generally available. I did not know how much
it cost. As much as I knew about MNF was what was required for me to
support (and trust me, the 5 year support bit was a bit of a
bombshell to me).
I wish I could answer your question better, but I just can't.
And that is, officially, and as per my other (official/moderator)
mail, the end of this thread.
