I think it depends on what U intend by 'landing well'...

Unfortunately many peoples are discouraged.
I personnaly have used, supported and advocated the various Mandrake
Firewall products, even correcting bugs or adapting code to my customers
but then I am quite disappointed too by the actual changes of policy and
general lack of interest of Mandriva for these products.
As an outsider of the inner workings of Mandriva I really have the
feeling that this "product" is the poor child of the family and some
things I read on this list just confirms and explains many things I
wondered about.
Really guys U cannot expect people to react well when they don't get
what they expected or what they paid for.

And then I feel you also have to be clean in your dealings with your
community of users which is your strength.
On one side Mandriva say they really care about us.
But then you cannot expect a consultant like me or many peoples on this
list to pay the price Mandriva ask for a product that we know is buggy
and that we contribute to sell, deploy and support. And for some
contributed directly to develop.

Let's face it : if it weren't for the likes of us only a handful of
peoples would have used the xNF. Especially when there is some good
concurrent products.

When reading the Mandriva attitude on this product, I wonder where is
the supposed care of Mandriva for its user base ?
There is a schism here as I perceive it.
The discussions on this list and the policy about the MNF is not in line
with the official stance of Mandriva imho.
So I too feel robed of a company we liked to discover another "buy or
die" company in its place.

Feeling distressed and most probably will switch to another product,
bringing my customers with me.
May be the project proposed by John Locke.

Sad end, I would not call this a good landing.
